Large dot inlay stickers are available too. No drilling required, just stick 'em on.
Might not last forever if you do a lot of thumb-over playing.
But it's a simple - and easily reversible - option.
Speaking of stickers, a third less popular option is putting small thin stickers or tape on the back of the neck at least 9 and 12 and maybe 15 -most guys who do this have the sticker touch the palm by the pinky or thumb when they are in those positions, If you do it right, it doesnt interfere with playing but allows players almost never look at their fretboard.
I just put some of those Luminalay side dots (green, black sleeve, 3.5mm od, 2.5mm id) on a neck I'm building. Even when they're not glowing they look totally awesome.
Yes, the blue would look amazing on the silver flake Iceman. I would even consider replacing the main fret markers as well...it makes a huge difference. Transforms your guitar from "cool" to "AWESOME"!
I wonder why no major company uses these across their whole line. It is a great idea, and it looks wonderful.
