Sheesh! I've been playing since before 1964 and working on guitars almost as long.
Lemon oil works just fine and I've never had it corrode frets or swell the fingerboard or any of that stuff.
I think theory is getting in the way of actual reality and first hand experience in some of these posts I've just read.
There may be better oils and faster penetrating conditioning products, but lemon oil has never harmed my guitars. Never.
I use it on my finest guitars with no issues whatsoever.
