Cos right now I am PISSED OFF at Gibson.
Unfortunately my Flying V has started to develop a neck "twist" for lack of a better term. IDK if it's the change in weather reacting with the thin skin or what. The Low E side of the board has started to give a little and dip low- so the High side of the board is flat, and the low E has effectively more relief- I can compensate a little with the height of the TOM and and it plays OK but I'm annoyed, and want it fixed.
More annoying- Gibson will take it back for warranty work, but not with the pups that are in it (nor can I just remove them)- i.e. it HAS to have the original 500T/496R in it (or at least A set, not necc the originals). Of course my 500T/496R have been sold to a forum Bro. Of course I can buy some used, but I'm pissed I have to invest another $75 bucks or more in it to send it back for a replacement (I don't think it can be fixed short of a new neck) on top of the shipping fees.
Pup swaps are so common that I cannot believe this would be an issue with getting warranty work done. It's not like there is structural change where I took off the Klusons, drilled some new holes and put some Schallers in, had it re-fretted,installed new bridge studs or whatnot.
So word of warning Gibson owners-keep your original pups.
