Re: Locking tuners?
Schaller-labeled Schallers (as opposed to Fender-labeled) should be made in Germania.
I have only done one very quick test of light versus heavy tuners and thought I heard a small difference that made me prefer light. Definitely not conclusive enough to live with that conclusion for the rest of my life but since I have limited testing time I stored it as guideline for now.
I got Sperzels which are light. They are not as precise as I would like and e.g. Schallers or my favorite (Ibanez Smooth Tuners IIs) are, but a good compromise. I had those on my Steve Morse. You could jump down a nuclear reactor core with that guitar and it wouldn't go out of tune.
I also got a set of those auto-locking vintage Strat/Kluson style which look like a winner but no time to test yet.
is that german made?
and doesnt heavy usually mean sustain?
