I don;t know, but since i got a simalrly clean Blackface 2x12 Bassman w/ original clean 2x12 cabinet, i'm starting to think about a black face pro...and one day, a blackface Super.

Nice score. The market value for that is $2200. Even in a bad economy, a 66 Deluxe Reverb will hold value like gold.

the drive from the reverb send and recovery stages help make the classic fender small blackface tone.
it's not just reverb that's missing... the supporting circuitry adds brightness, harmonics, and gain! Things people love the BFDR for.
It may very well still sound absolutely freaking awesome when cranked though. A darker, rawer, but still fender-y tone.

My favorite OD pedal (Rocktron Austin Gold) does all that, just no reverb. I just don't need it, because any time I play in a room that holds more than 30 people or so*, reverb just happens. I only have to adjust my playing to how the room reverberates.
*This is any time I play anywhere other than home.

a deluxe is a different beast than a deluxe reverb. you can mod the deluxe to get it to sound better but then youll hurt the value. its not like its a turd, but it sure isnt the grail either. if its all original and in good shape you paid a fair market price for it.
