So glad he came back with Cozy and Chris, and his own material, and was the deserved darling of the festival scene.
I do remember seeing just the 4-piece UFO live on The Old Grey Whistle Test, when Micheal used the white V, and that was a real treat. Great sound and playing - riding his volume carefully, and at the same time - letting us have it all.
I couldn’t find that clip, but he was truly at his best.

Saw him last year with UFO and the year before doing the MSG tour, absolute perfection both times…. Unbelievably so.

What brand of guitar was he using?

He was using Gibson V’s both times. With MSG he used what looked like one of his older half black/ half white for some songs but then an all white one. With UFO he was using an all white, had a problem and switched to an all black one.

In the 80s I was listening to Slayer and Venom, Kreator, Wasp, sometimes Metallica, Priest and OZZY...

I have heard some UFO, but not really a fan. I actually really like the Scorps, but I don't really know anything older than Lovedrive either.

I Guess he's just flown below my radar.
