So, what all kinds of deep voodoo are involved in "work"ing a Strat? Besides turning the mids up on the amp?

I am tiring of all the BS that gets spouted....usually I just ignore things like this...kind of getting under my skin lately.

I think it's different for every situation. Mid freqs on your amp mid knob vary from amp to amp and even in the same amp over time. The tonal character of the guitar's wood, string gauge, pick size and technique also come into play and emphasize or de-emphasize various frequencies along the mid spectrum. And of course there's the acoustics of the venue you happen to be playing in.

In other words, it's not the case that "mids are mids" and everything is solved by adjusting the mid knob on the amp. If it were that easy, this thread would never have been started.
