Re: monster cable. worth it?

I believe them to be. My whole rig consists of only MC now. It's dead quiet, very durable, and it's got a lifetime warranty. All I can ask for in a cord. I notice no coloration of the tone either.

Re: monster cable. worth it?

Monster cable is great. It's one of the best cables you can buy, period. I use Planet Waves cables myself because they're cheaper and still sound great. They DO make quite a difference though :)

Re: monster cable. worth it?

hmm i just switched to planet waves theya re evry good but ive never tried monster cable, if they are mroe pricy and better than planet waves they must be tone heaven! so yes, but as far as i know ill use planet waves with no complaints for loooong time im hooked on them for now.

Re: monster cable. worth it?

TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!! They have a lifetime warranty. I was told by a Guitar Center employee that I could intentionally give my dog my monster cable, let her chew it up, and take it back to Guitar Center with my receipt and they would give me a brand new replacement. That was the policy when I bought mine and I'm quite sure that it hasn't changed. Either way dude, don't waste your time on cheap cables. I've been there done that and it gets to be a waste of time and money. :smack: Cheap cables also tend to give you background noise. Monster cables don't give any background noise whatsoever and they stay totally quiet. Yes, they are more expensive than cheaper cables but you will never have to buy another cable because of Monster Cables Lifetime Warranty.

van damme cable and neutrik jacks for me - get the jacks 10 a time off ebay, and the cable is pretty darn good and cheap. never had one break, and choosing length is simply a matter of cutting it a different length before soldering the jacks on

also, i feel a lot better gigging with a cable i soldered a week ago. better than a cheapy lead with the jack rivetted on and a moulded housing. yuck.

Re: monster cable. worth it?

I have had good experiences with Monster Cables. I'm even using their TV connector cable. Good stuff.

Re: monster cable. worth it?

I've got a monster cables speaker cable for 2 bucks from ebay. It rocks. After i installed it i had to put down the bass on my amp

Re: monster cable. worth it?

I am not sure about monster cables but, I really like the planet waves cables with the circuit breaker. They are Great cables.

Re: monster cable. worth it?

i use monster for all of my audio stuff plus my entire rig, though i want to try some of the planet waves connectors for effects. Monster cable is worth every penny

Re: monster cable. worth it?

I bought mosters for my whole rack and I really like them so far. Lifetime warranty doesn't hurt either.

Re: monster cable. worth it?

thanks, Monster order going out tomorrow :)

Re: monster cable. worth it?

what about mogami?

as far as monster cables, how do the bass cables differ from the regular ones?

i think they also make a 'rock cable' and i'm interested in how that affects sound

should i switch to all monster, or just my 20 footers? cuz i have some 10' axl cables going from my pedal to my amp

depends what series of cable you get. 100, 500, or 1000. 1000 is $100 for 12 ft, $150 for 21 ft.

Re: monster cable. worth it?

No, I don't believe Monster cables are any better than a top-of-the-line cable from Planet Waves. That's not to say that they're bad cables, but they're certainly not worth the cost. I firmly believe Monster cables are the biggest joke in musical gear. I've been using the high end Planet Waves cables for years, and I always recommend them to people who are looking for the best cable without having to sell a kidney to afford it.

How about a BIG +1. They are good but, they are sort of a joke not only in musical gear but also home audio as well. Well, joke isnt a good word but the are very overpriced.

Re: monster cable. worth it?

Monster Cables are more marketing hype than anything. Most cables these days come with a lifetime warranty. GeorgeL's simply sound better too. I'd rather make my own cables with good wire and plugs than spend $20 on a 6" patch cable from Monster. They are the Bose stereos of the cable world.
