Re: Mr Scary pickups?
Did anyone consider that maybe....just MAYBE these guys found "George's Tone"? So it seems to me that SD has 40-50% of the pup market maybe more, and with that kind of presence and the volume and store fronts that George could take home significantly less per pup from SD and still come out ahead. I mean how many guys here had hear of Arcane before this? I know I thought they were the Trussart in-house built single coils and didn't even know they made buckers.
I dunno, I met him at the first UGD and have trouble believing it is all about money. George was a gentleman and very kind to my wife and I and he REALLY seemed to enjoy being there talking to other players, hanging out with Seymour, and just talking gear. I remember he was ultra skeptical about using Steveo's 1984 reissue since it wasn't old or hand-wired, but when it was all over he seemed impressed! I just can't see how this will make George lots of cash.....not to mention that he just didn't seem, to me, like that kind of guy.
