My Peavey "The Classic" up on eBay.

What's up guys? So my Peavey "The Classic" from the early 70's is up on the bay. It's BIN for $270, although i'm not expecting that. And if a forum member makes me an offer, and specifies that they are a bro, I may take a very low offer. I could use the money for Christmas.

Basically, it's a 6L6 power amp, SS pre-amp 212 combo amp. The Cleans are really wonderful, the overdrive is not great (although Peavey reps told me it would improve dramatically with a speaker change/cab extension). But if you want a clean amp, this is a great one for the money. Single coils sound unreal through this (for the money, that is). Like I say in the auction, the SC cleans rival $500-$700 Fender Tubes (like the Hot Rod Deluxe, Blues Jr., etc.).

Really a good amp, for certain music. Takes well to pedals. Check it out, if you're interested. This amp will go cheap to a forum bro! Only a 5 day listing too, since I must ship by next Monday morning.

Man, I see lots of those amps in this area. Peavey of course being centered in Mississippi, it was the cheapest thing a lot of the blues guys could find. I've actually seen a lot of steel players playing these amps because they stay so clean! A guy I know that used to play for Vince Gill (his dad also played for Conway Twitty...both he and his dad are pedal steel players) uses a Mesa/Boogie V-Twin through his Classic and freakin *rips* ...great sounding amps for the money

Re: My Peavey "The Classic" up on eBay.

Yeah it sound phenomenal (really) for the money. Elvis started busteing out some country through my Tele and my amp tnoght, it was cool. But yeah, they're great amps clean. And they take amazingly well to pedals. This amp just needs new speakers, or a cab to run through, and it'll sound really good. Matter of fact, if it doesn't sell, I might not sell it. I might buy new speakers. I would miss this baby.

Re: My Peavey "The Classic" up on eBay.

Well, I sold it for $240 (which is $90 more than I bought it for). So I'm a happy camper. I'm seriously thinking about finally buying a Gibson, now that I have the money. An old, beat up SG for sure. :)
