New DeMartini Custom Shop Pickup (my new favorite)

Re: New DeMartini Custom Shop Pickup (my new favorite)

Warren's tone always stood out from the crowd in the 80's as well as now. From what I gather he wanted something for the new signature guitar he is coming out with and the CS thing is it.

I am surprised that fender allowed Duncan to sell it as Warren's model though. They are generally Nazi's in regards to even discussing the details let alone actually selling a pickup used in their products. The exception being models that are already production pickups. Maybe they tried that path and Duncan/Warren held their ground causing the delays in the guitar coming out

Re: New DeMartini Custom Shop Pickup (my new favorite)

aceman...why is simple...the new charvel signature model and the rumors of a 2007 ratt reunion with the original members (minus Crosby of course :( ). plus why not, WD was one of the best players to come out of the 80s as a "guitar hero" and still plays just as well today. he's one of my favorite players and one of the few that i wouldn't be embarrased to support by buying something with his name on it.

Re: New DeMartini Custom Shop Pickup (my new favorite)

Warrens playing always had a good root in blues. It wasnt just wanking like so many of the players of the Hair movement. One of thier last albums had some really good blues.

Re: New DeMartini Custom Shop Pickup (my new favorite)

Again, I love the DeMartini. Lot's of listenable stuff, as shreddy things go. I'm just saying that I'm re-issuing a Tony MacAlpine strat either.

But - hey, I'm not gonna be a HATER. Spent a lot of time playing You're in Love, round and round, Lay it down, Lack of Comm, etc...

Rock on Warren - now, if you want to flame me, flame because Dancing Undecover is my favorite album!

Re: New DeMartini Custom Shop Pickup (my new favorite)

no flame for you...dancing has "slip of the lip" on it which is a KILLER song!

Now that I decide to get my Snakecaster built with the '78 instead of waiting for the WD CS that was discussed a while back...............:cussing:

Mike, we'll go ahead with it with the '78, but I'm ordering a WD today & will swap it out when I get it :headbang:

Re: New DeMartini Custom Shop Pickup (my new favorite)

There are probably about 8 people that have these outside of Warren, Duncan and Charvel. Be patient.

I'll give ya' a yell when I get mine....MJ will be making some for WD in 3 weeks.

I'm guessing he's ahead of me in line :D

Any body have clips of the new Custom Shop Warren Model?
Are you going to use the famed bell metal bridge block routine, for that authentic Warren vibe:
My Snake guitar is more like a Soloist,it's a great Hamer, with a super cool Diamondback Rattlesnake airbrush graphic,it plays great and I drove 3 states away in the nineties to buy it,always being inspired by WD's original Snakeskin Jackson!!

Warren used a JB back when....this body I got from a dude on HC, but he sells them on Ebay too. Normally, they're basswood, but I paid a little more for alder.

And yet ANOTHER fine example of a Hamer!!!

I've got it being set-up right now by our very own "Clone-ologist" XSSIVE....I already had a '78 & sent him that with the body....then the WD RTM came out, so I'm gonna play it as a '78 for a bit & then throw in the WD.

The '78 is 10k & the WD is 18.7k......:scared:

I need to start working on my "Lay It Down" chops :bigok:

Oh & what's the "famed bell metal bridge block routine" ???

I see many top metal guitar players are going to less output with alnico2 stuff..Interesting!How would my PATB2 with an Alnico2?I think i have to experiment a bit!
