New parts guitar day!!!

So as I am still waiting for my charvel to get back from paint shop I realized I had enough parts around for about 99% of a guitar. Came out pretty good I think. It has WAY more sparkle in person then what I could capture in a picture. Pickups are JB and Jazz. 1 vol, 3 way switch, and a kill switch. Still need to do some finishing touches. Waiting for pickups ring screws, I want to black out the tremolo cut out too. Then it's back to my waiting game for my other body to get back.

Re: New parts guitar day!!!

If you go to an Arts & Crafts store like Michael's for example, they have 8-1/2"x11" (I think that's the size) sheets of foam that's like 1/8" thick in all kinds of different colors, which is pretty much the exact same material many OEM guitar companies used in their recessed trems.

Trace your cavity and cut it out, then flip it over and spray it lightly with 3M spray adhesive.

Im certain I even saw Neon Yellow like your pickups. Just an idea.

Your project looks really cool! A Neon Yellow DiMarzio cliplock strap would look really good on that too.

Looks great! Is this the guitar you had posted another thread about? You were looking for paint ideas?
If so, that looks awesome (paint job).
What did you end up using to paint this with?

Re: New parts guitar day!!!

Yes this guitar ended up being the culmination of several threads. This is the body I posted a long time ago asking about who made it...found out of is a KnE body. This neck was from the thread where I sanded all the poly off of it and put an oil finish on it. And yes this is the paint job that I was referring to. I ended up using some Montana cans infra red paint I had and ordered some glitter effect to top it with. Then topped it all with 2 cans of their varnish clear. Wet sanding in between coats.

It looks great..,,
Also looks like the KnE SD (Charvel) body?
I’ve been contemplating building a guitar with parts from them.
Any negatives with them so far?
Iirc, you did have a neck pocket issue(?) with a guitar body...was it this one or the one that’s our being painted?

Re: New parts guitar day!!!

Ok so the custom paint job guitar that is still in progress was originally going to be built using this body. I bought this body used and it was a little rough around the edges for what i wanted. So i ordered a body from them to my specs and the neck pocket was cut too small but i shipped it back to them and they made it right and i had zero other issues with it. For the price that you pay for their bodies the quality is definitely there. I would buy from them again for sure.
