Re: New Project - Basswood Strat

Roasted quartersawn maple with a rosewood board should sound interesting. The two woods together might balance out the frequency response nicely. That baked maple has to be a fairly dense wood with a tighter grain than normal maple, paired with the rosewood to warm it up a bit. Nice.
You might find the Demon in the bridge to be a bit under powered and might want to consider sticking an A8 in it for a bit more beef.

That's looking really good. Have you considered painting the face of the headstock black, too? Or white to match the body?
Ha! The guy who painted the body suggested white on the headstock to match the body. I was thinking white or black...not sure yet![]()
Either would look outstanding.
That will be a very nice looking guitar when finished Trey! What is the PG?
Typically I don't care for painted peg heads on Strats. I would leave it natural.
I love wooden pickguards too. I once had a Tele with a walnut burl pickguard, it was gorgeous on the hunter green Tele body. I miss that Tele.
That looks great, bro. Can't wait for the finished results.
That looks awesome!
Where's the crack in the neck?
Do you get to keep the cracked one?
Because i bet its fine haha.
Probably... If that were a maple board neck I'd be keeping an eye out for it myself. LOLMy guess is Warmoth will take it back and either repair it or sell it as is at a lower price. I've found some incredible deals through them over the years on stuff like this.
