If the control harnesses of your two Spector Legend bass guitars prove to be identical, it follows that any sonic differences between the two instruments are due to the body woods, the pickups or the holoflake finishing materials.
Once you can explain the differences between the two basses, you can choose whether to exaggerate the differences or to make the instruments sufficiently alike that either could serve as back-up to the other.
