Wow, that wood color is awesome! I always wanted to build something out of padouk. Is it heavy?
Padouk / Padauk is a little denser than maple, similar in density to oak wood really. Lovely wood IMO, although for finishing a grain filler is a good idea (learned that the hard way). Also, I fins a coat of shellac really helps boost the colour. Only tried it as a neck wood, which it does really well on account of its sheer stiffness.
I don't usually go for teles, but that one just oozes class, and wood choices are brilliant (if it was mine I would have gone ebony on the neck, but hey, it's your party and will be great anyway). Would love to know how the P90s sound, they've always intrigued me but I'm just always drawn to humbuckers.

Yeah, I heard it was a royal pain to work with. The dust is hell for your skin and lungs. Maybe best used as a veneer, I guess.
No, there is no veneer on this guitar.
Well, it is thicker, as the top is on a limba body. My Warmoth uses a black limba body, too.

I love the look and the tone of Black Korina/Limba. Your guitar looks good for what I can see of it. Please show the front.
The front is stained curly maple. Here is the body before assembly.
cool. My warmoth neck is canary wood and it looks like your headstock

Wow, that's gotta be the darkest canarywood I've ever seen. Is it stained?
I've gone and built another telecaster. Warmoth Black Korina body capped with Padouk, Warmoth Padouk neck, Rosewood fretboard, stainless steel frets reverse headstock, Seymour Duncan vintage and custom P90s with 50s wiring.
