I guess it isn't more common due to 'tradition' or other such nonsense.
I find it so funny that the "traditionalists" in the Gibson family/cult are much more vocal and opinionated than with any other brand.
When I posted this guitar (and other LP's that I have previously molested) on other guitar sites, people take issue with the color scheme, the truss cover, pickguard, and poker chip more often than not.
They seem to be Very vocal in those opinions as well.
"It doesn't look right" "Les Pauls are supposed to have ...x, y , or z" "where's the pickguard? Looks stupid without it." "Your pickup is backwards man wtf?"
Whereas: Nobody blinks and eye when you swap a pickup ring out of a BC Rich or a Dean ha ha ha.
I can take a die grinder and spray paint to my Jackson's and people just respond: "looks cool man"
Cork-sniffing A-holes at times, this Gibby-Cult. I both Love and Despise them/us at times.
Personally, I don't want a plain ol burst standard that looks like everyone else's vintage whatever....
Just a small rant. Carry on boys.
I've decided that this Wine Red is in fact a keeper.
