So...even though my 50th was in October, I saw a guitar I really wanted, so my family bought it for me. I've been wanting a Floyd guitar to take out to bars, and I never had a V, so they got me a Jackson JS32 Rhoads in the gun metal gray color. It was $250 new, and I expected a guitar that I was going to have to completely rebuild to get it to play and sound decent. What a surprise I got! I'm not gonna say its the best playing axe I've ever had, but the action is great. The biggest surprise is the Jackson pickups. I was going through my stash of Duncans to see what I was going to put in it, but when I plugged it in at rehearsal yesterday, nobody in the band could believe the way it sounded. Really full and hot, similar to the Duncan Distortion (if I was going to compare). The neck pickup sounds great for chords and soloing alike. I hate to say it since I swap pickups on everything, but these pickups are stayin'. The Floyd stays in tune perfectly, and I went nuts on it to check it out. Really pleased, and I'll try to get some pics up soon. Did I just get a good one, or is the quality on these pretty good across the board?
