NGD!!

Ernie Ball MM Steve Morse sig model

BEAUTIFUL birds eye maple neck. The Dimarzio steve morse bridge pickup is outstanding!
Great strat with a big, fat les paul type tone

I cannot get over this neck, it fits like a glove in my hand. Its on the fatter side, but it just feels "right"

Poplar body
maple neck
rosewood board
bridge/stop tail

beauty :naughty::14:

Re: NGD!!

Very beautiful! I like the white pickguard with the black knobs and PUPs. If I were in your shoes, today would be a good day. Have fun jammin'! Post some tones if you get a chance!

Re: NGD!!

Awesome guitar Chris, I'm sure you'll get used to the pick up layout.... extremely versatile! Congrats.

Re: NGD!!

That might have been mine once.

Is there an indentation in the paint above the pickguard?

Re: NGD!!

Beautiful guitar!

Could someone please explain the pickup and switching logic to me? (More from a philosophical standpoint) The idea must have been to have some specific tones all available in one guitar, what were the design goals and requirements going in?

im not really sure, but I can tell you this.......with 3 different switches, the combinations get VERY complex. its kind of hard to remember what does what is which position....

Re: NGD!!

No mere mortal will ever understand the logic of Morsies brain. He is from another planet. Listen to the Dregs. He was a master 35 years ago.

Maybe Allan holdsworth could figure it out though

I found a road map of the pickup/switching layout and im just looking at it and keep asking myself......why why why? some of these switch positions and pickups just don't make make sense why they would be layed out that way. But I guess it made sense to Morse

Re: NGD!!

On a side note, the updated version of this guitar.....the "Y2D" or something like that does have the single coil by the neck humbucker removed and the mini toggle switches removed. Guess Steve doesn't like today what he liked 20+ years ago

Re: NGD!!

Christopher I just bought a Morsie like yours with the stock black scratch plate. Got it off eBay today. I should receive it in a couple of weeks as I'm in Australia. I am so bloody happy. Morse was my first influence, 20 years on I finally have his guitar.

Re: NGD!!

Very cool! I must say I prefer the setup and pickup arrangement of the Y2D, but you're certainly not going to be short of tonal options!
