Hi
I have a Mexican Sambora strat fitted with a flush mounted Floyd Rose II. I’m tired of the whole locking trem system :smack:– it stays in tune but I find it cumbersome to setup and re-string. Besides, I’m sure with a properly setup nut and locking tuners I can achieve reasonable tuning stability with a non-locking bridge.
I would like to replace it with a Wilkinson/Gotoh model (VS-100 or VG-300). I appreciate that I will have to fill and re-locate the post holes, but I’m concerned as to whether the existing Floyd routing accommodate the larger block size.
Anyone have any experience of replacing a Floyd rose with a non-locking bridge??
Any advice would be helpful.
