NPD: Whole Lotta Humbucker Set

Re: NPD: Whole Lotta Humbucker Set

Those are asian-made, although they're actually quite good, however, I've experienced a couple of times the neck p'up going mute.

Clean the contacts thoroughly, that's all it took to work properly again, as I knew they were no cold solder joints.

Unfortunately, seems that Switchcraft doesn't make *black* hardware.

HTH,

HTH,

Whats up with that?! lol

I like alternative hardware colors like black, copper, satin/brushed chrome, nickel, etc.

HTH,

I'll clean the contacts on mine, thanks for the advice

Are these the prong type? That's what I have in my guitars and sometimes I'll find that a prong will gradually be bent slightly out of position and not make regular contact. I unscrew the toggle washer (leaving all the wires connected), and look at the toggle from the side while I flip it up and down. I can see where the problem is, and bend the offending prong back in place for a tight fit. I've never had to clean the contacts. To avoid it from happening in the first place, I always leave the toggle in the middle position when the guitar's not plugged in, so there's no pressure on the prongs. The only prong issues I've had were with used guitars, and I suspect the former owners didn't leave them in the middle position when they were back in the case.

Well, it's official, strap buttons are mounted and this baby is ready for a neck! I can't wait until it arrives!

Re: NPD: Whole Lotta Humbucker Set

As I was putting the knobs on the pots I noticed one of them has an air bubble on the top inside the plastic. It's pretty ugly. I just placed an order for more of them from ebay, hopefully they get here soon but stuff from China usually takes 3 weeks.

Re: NPD: Whole Lotta Humbucker Set

I've never understood why switchcraft doesn't make more color options available either.

Same here...kinda stinks lol :soapbox:

Haha! Love it!

And that is me waiting for update pics lol :22:

Good news! I went to one of my local music stores today and they had 1 of the exact knobs I was looking for! I bought it of course and now I'm really ready to roll... once the neck gets here.

Awesome! No need to order a whole set!

Re: NPD: Whole Lotta Humbucker Set

Too bad I already ordered them... but at least now I do not have to wait for them to arrive to snap the photos... you know... once the neck is here.

ooops! Can you return them? Or are they cheap and no worries/can resale them locally?

And that's right, no waiting for pics is allowed! lol

They were only $2 total (shipping included) for 4 of them from china so it's all good.
