Out of phase wiring trouble shooting

I wired a Les Paul with a CTS push/pull knob for phase reversal. I used the StewMac guide to differences between CTS and alpha push/pulls.


I did my wiring like the bottom left image (phase switch with another pickup). However, the out of phase is active when the knob is in the down position, and the guitar is in phase when up. Obviously, I would like this the other way around. This is an image from StewMac showing what is active when with a CTS push pull.


Any help?

I will add that I initially had the ground comin from “3” and the hot coming from “1” with the same result.
