Pearly Gates Neck

Professional Scapegoat
I just recd one from Lew along with a Blues Saraceno Trembucker. As soon as I get my order for chrome pup rings, Ill be putting them in a Mahogany body and neck axe with a quilted maple top. What can I expect from the PG?
The anticipation is driving me batty!

I was going to ask you how you liked it after reading your comments in the Explorer thread. My guess is that you'll love it...but if you don't, no problem.

We can swap it for something else.

Thanks again!

Re: Pearly Gates Neck

It's hot, it's fat, it's bright and it's growly. I love it. It's just got more "kick" than a regular paf. While bright, it's got a great smoothness to the highs. I think the mids really give the hot/growly factor though. Honestly, I would use them for any guitar that I wanted a great paf sound from. A little, clearer, a little more punchy, a little more raucus than the standard humbucker. Just an all around great pup. Could use it for anythingthing, but obviously a blues/rock trooper. Volume and tone control changes can really flex the thing. Try a slight volume decrease and slight tone drop on the guitar for classic paf (maybe a bit more even) then crank it to be rude.

You'll get sparkle, chime, push in the mids, and none of the annoying "boom" in the low end tha t I hear from the 59n.

Like Lew said, you'll love it. :burnout:
