 I would like the take from the Forum members about some of the better Pots and Caps to use with the PG'S in a Les Paul body?
Simple question or is it? Thanks to everyone how replies!!

Re: PG's Best cobo of Pots and Caps?

All depends on the rig/guitar/ears. Sometimes each one can be quite variable. I'd start with 500k and .022 caps, but get a few cap values above and below just to see if there are any alternatives that work better.

Thanks
I am wondering about using Gibson linear 300k pots too? I was thinkking of using this as a tone pot with a 500k push pull in the volume as the bridge position and then using a 500k push pull with a 500k tone. Thinking of say .015 neck cap with a .018 bridge both being Paper and oil Vit Q's? I have a very amount of bumble bee's all being .033 or higher. Well I do have one
.001 left but dont think it would be much help. Thanks for the info!!

i like 500k all around for pg's in a les paul and use .02 caps on just about everything but a .015 on the neck and .018 on the bridge is fine

Re: PG's Best cobo of Pots and Caps?

I personally love the way P.G.'s sound with 300k pots but I've only ever done this with Ash Stratocasters & Alder Tele's? For an L.P. 500K's may work better? If you do indeed go this route I'd suggest .022 P.I.O. caps, actually if you use 500K pots I'd still go with .022 P.I.O. capacitors, but this is a matter of taste so I'd get a few of different values & experiment? Either way I think its going to sound great when your done!!! I'm more of a Fender guy so perhaps someone can correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Gibson use 300k pots for a lot of their P-90 equipped guitars back in the day, even L.P's & S.G.'s???? I know the P.G's are not P-90's or really even Humbucker sized P-90's but being P-90ish you'd think 300K pots would work great???
