Pickup recommendation please!

I own Norlin Era LP and it has Tim Shaw pickups.

Problem is, it's not heavy enough, kinda muddy so I'm thinking about changing it to something else.

I'm thinking about probably getting a Seymour Duncan Nazgul, Sentient but do they come in gold? I think I've only seen ones without covers.

So which pickups should I get for my babe? I mostly play metal.

What amp are you using?

What kind of music are you playing?

Re: Pickup recommendation please!

amp? pedals? kind of metal? the same pickup that works wonders for modern metal might sound dull or boxy for classic metal, the best pickup for doom or stoner metal can be worst crap ever if you try to play death or thrash with it

The Nazgul/Sentient set (good choice, btw) can be ordered with gold covers through your dealer.

Re: Pickup recommendation please!

Without knowing more about what you play and what you're after, it's hard to know if these are the right pickups for you, but you can get the Nazgul and Sentient in gold on eBay right now: LINK and LINK

Re: Pickup recommendation please!

Something might be wrong. Of all the things I've heard Norlins called, muddy was never once one of them.

Re: Pickup recommendation please!

Based on the exposure I've had to them, I might want a Norlin rather than a current one.
Just make sure it's not TOO heavy and prepare for a refret if you hate "fretless wonders."
