Re: Radial Headload Prodigy... Anyone tried it?

If it's anything like the radial products I own, it's built like a tank and does exactly what it's designed to do. With that said, I have no experience with the headload.

Re: Radial Headload Prodigy... Anyone tried it?

Yeah I have no doubt that Radial makes top-quality stuff. I guess this particular item is so specialized that there just are not any reviews to speak of anywhere out there on the Web. It's bigger brother does review well though so I went ahead and ordered an open-box item for a good deal at MF. Saved about $80 off retail and still get full warranty and full return privileges.

I'm going to try it with the Ownhammer IRs in Cakewalk SONAR and see how it goes from there. I'm really after a decent silent-recording solution more than anything else. I don't see myself using it in a live situation at all. Well, maybe on the occasions I play at church but not with my band.

Hopefully I can post my findings within the next couple of weeks.

Re: Radial Headload Prodigy... Anyone tried it?

This looks like exactly what I need, too. I'm going to want to use headphones with my Hot Rod Deluxe sometimes.

Re: Radial Headload Prodigy... Anyone tried it?

You could do that. But a much cheaper solution to headphone practicing would be to.get something like a Fender Mustang that has a built in headphone jack. You can usually find them on craigslist for under $100 and a new one is only.about $120.

Re: Radial Headload Prodigy... Anyone tried it?

I already have a Line 6 Pocket Pod and an elaborate system that lets me use a solid-state amp with headphones. That's the best headphone sound I've ever had for guitar. If this might be better and would let me use tube amps, I am precisely crazy enough to do it.

Re: Radial Headload Prodigy... Anyone tried it?

Lol then by all means knock yourself out. You might find you like the 50% volume reduction mode too which will make it even more useful. Just seems like an expensive device if all you will use it for is headphone practice.

Re: Radial Headload Prodigy... Anyone tried it?

I'd use the other features, too.

Re: Radial Headload Prodigy... Anyone tried it?

Yeah give it a shot then. Hopefully this time next week I'll have my first impressions worked out.

Re: Radial Headload Prodigy... Anyone tried it?

Sounds cool, there's a lot of pieces out like this, from Two Notes, RIvera, and some others. I am really interested in the Rivera Mini Rock Crusher. The Two Notes Torpedo Live sounds great, but I am visually impaired and comple LED menus aren't going to work for me

Re: Radial Headload Prodigy... Anyone tried it?

Yeah... so it's going back. Don't like it at all. Sucks all the life out of my tone IMHO. Using Ownhammer IR's too.
