IMO:
These Fuence pups completely blow away the Fender Custom Shop Texas Specials that I had previously loaded in my SSS Strat.
Installation took half an hour. Fishman provides, pups, hardware, pots and even the wire. A no brainer pup switch (just what I need).
The tone well, tough to put into words - “Writing about music is like dancing about architecture.” -Martin Mull. But I will try:
V1 is like the traditional Strat sound moving from bridge to neck through the 5 way switch you start with that classic strat quack and move up into a sweet, rich sound that only a strat can produce.
V2 is sort of like my Texas Specials but more. The bridge has a real sharp bite to it and rings like a Sistine chapel bell. the middle pup, as with all strats, has a tempered sound great for rhythm. The neck is the real killer on these pups it has that classic strat sound but with a lot more punch.
Tough to try and describe, maybe I will put up some sound clips to try and make my point.
Fine print: I am not affiliated with Fishman in any way.
