Re: Rectifier tube that sounds between rectifier/ silicone diode for Mesa
my bad. :smack: I was mostly trying to point out that both the tubes and the silicone diode are there for 'rectifying', and trying to relay my bad experience with the gz34s. Next time I should sick my head inside the different amps before I try to sound like an expert on Mesa's naming convention. :duh:
Hey Klink, I have been considering getting my Mesa Voodoo modded, and even talked to Trace about what upgrades would need to be done to my T-Verb before he would work on it, but it seems like even after your mod you are still trying a bunch of different tubes/speakers/pups/beam blockers etc. Would you not recommend the Voodoo Dual Rectifier mod or is there just some specific tone that is eluding you?
sosomething said:Actually (splitting hairs now) the "Dual" in Dual Rectifier comes from the number of rectifier tubes. They're not counting the silicon diode. That's why the 100-watt Dual Rec runs on two 5U4-Gs, the 50-watt Single Rec runs on one, and the 150-watt Triple rec runs on three.
