Know john the owner over at Funky Munky well and also know the story on those guitars. John helped me big time with the ST-3 I had that Washburn screwed up. You are quite correct in those guitars were built to the USA specs and are exceptional.
I also "agree" on the old SE TA's being cool. Here is a photo of mine I bought new in 77 from 1978. In the end it had a built SD 455 and was set up with a 2:41 gear to run the REAL MT Cannonball in 1980. She would incinerate the tires from a 55 roll would cruse 160 all day with the air on and was a dead honest 200MPH street car on the top side that still manged to run consistent mid 13's with that gear! Fastest car by far in the old Ala TA Association that is now the POC for Bama. I had the Pontiac SICKNESS back in those days. Jim Butler (
