So i bought a peavey 6534+ on kijiji, hell of a deal... i tried the amp, it sounded great, it was in absolute mint condition, couldnt even find a scratch on it. The guy sold it because he couldnt use it in his apartment cuz it was too loud. He also bought the amp used from a guy who got it in 2007 who sold the amp because he couldnt go too loud either... in other words this amp has never been gigged with or played loud ever... it has been played on very low volume for abit but never loud, it was taken care of well too since it just looked perfect. When i tried it the el34s all lit up perfectly, the sound was exactly as described in the numerous reviews on the net, i am yet to try it loud through my 412. I just wanted to know is it safe to use the tubes in it currently? they are old but have never really been used... they worked perfectly when i played them im wondering if it is safe to play the amp very loud tmo for rehearsal with my band

If the valves have barely been worked, they should be okay.
Before powering up in anger, it might be worth removing the valves one at a time to check that the pins and pin base contacts are clean. Also, inspect the amp chassis for evidence of leaks or burns.
CAUTION - Your amplifier uses and stores some lethally high voltages. Before handling the innards of the amplifier, disconnect from the mains electricity supply and drain the capacitors.

Realistically, those tubes probably have 97% of their life left. Far too many players change out perfectly good tubes, just to err on the side of caution, only to throw their money away.

I prefer certain brands of tubes and tend to switch to them almost immediately. However, I do keep the originals or whatever came in the amp when I got it for backup purposes.
