Silverface Super reverbs

How are they? I've never really tried one. How easily will they break up? How much money will it take to bring one back into shape? What models should I stay away from (master volume, certain cirrcuts, etc...) I'll be using a strat and a booster kind of like the TS 808.

a 68 SF Fender will need the least amout of work to bring it to BF specs...you can tell a 68 from a mile away...they have a chrome border around the grill. Stay away from anything with a master volume...the worst about SOME Sf amps is the speakers...I have a 69 Super Reverb...I hated the way it sounded until I put RI Jensons in it...that was the same thing with my 69 Twin. Super are killer amps, but know this...with vintage style single coils...they will be fairly clean until it's kinda loud...but with an 808, you should be able to run it up enough to make it start breathing good thin hit it with the 808 for some real good SRV tones!
