I didn't because everybody would ***** and whine about whatever band not being a band they like or a musical style they play or like, etc. I specifically left the band out so you folks could use your imagination. After all, this was the call of a lifetime or you to come join what I would say is your favorite band. :)

So which is your favorite band? Scorpions or Broadway music band?

Well, call of a lifetime would be The Beatles. I'll take some of what they were known to use, and maybe add one or two things I would want to use.

5 electric guitars -
1964 Gibson SG,
1964 Fender Stratocaster,
1963 Epiphone Casino,
1967 Fender Rosewood Telecaster,
1952 Gibson ES-295 (a much better Casino)

1 acoustic guitar -
Gibson J160E, of course

2 amp heads (Must be able to do clean, dirty and high gain sounds) - sorry, high gain need not apply
1964 Vox/JMI AC30/6 Treble,
1968 Fender Super Reverb

4 4x12 cabs - sorry 4x12 not needed in all cases
1962 Vox 2x12 cab
1964 Vox 2x12 TB cab with the extra horn,
1967 Vox UL7120 4x12 T.1225 Celestions
1966 Fender Bassman/Bandmaster 2x12 piggyback cab

Chase Bliss CXM 1978 Studio Reverb

I clearly misunderstood too, I was trying to save the band/ management company money :9: however, I wouldn’t do hi gain, it goes like this…

So, AC/DC have called…. Angus fell off stage and I got the call from Angus himself. “Hey Don, how ya fixed? Just gone and busted me leg and Shiela won’t let me finish the tour mate in case it falls off and your the only guy I know who can finish the final European dates for me”. Well I got a good idea of most of the guitar parts albeit a little rusty but lacking the energy and performance so I’ll have to get supplements and hit the gym so my velvet school uniform will fit. Here’s the rig….

2 x ‘65 cherry SG’s
2 x 70’s black SG’s
1 x PRS modern Eagle 1 faded denim (why? coz I want another 1 in this colour and got it for free!)

2 x 60’s Marshall 1987’s
2 x 60’s 4 x 12 with Greenbacks
2 x checker grille with G65’s (just coz I like “em)

pedals….. pfffff who needs ‘em… I got the sound guy to boost my solo’s

I’m done!

I have everything I would possibly need

We all do, and probably more but that wasn't what this exercise was all about. ;)

Imagine the young gun, dream band calls, you are the man in their eyes, nobody is better for the gig than you. They are buying you stuff, anything you want within the boundaries outlined. The car is coming to pick you up in an hour, probably full of hookers and blow if you have that 80's mindset and imagination as a kid or you are being escorted by the cherry pie and whitesnake chicks....lol. The tech is there to make sure it is all wired up and programmed to your liking because rehearsals are around the corner and the stadium gig is a couple weeks out and you need to be dialed in. Dream a little with me. Yeah, your script logo phase 90 would work wonderfully but guess what? YOU DON'T NEED TO USE ANY OF YOUR EXISTING GEAR! THE BAND IS BUYING YOU EVERYTHING!!!! Build your rig. Have fun. That is where I am coming from. It's your personal dream gig and your dream band to play for. Enjoy the moment! :D

This thread has proven to me that you guys can't play along, don't read or can't read and don't follow direction on things. Most would however attempt to argue the devil out of hell though...lol. This thread had nothing to do with what you already have. You are getting paid to pick out a rig with certain criteria. The guidelines and criteria were outlined in detail. All you had to do was build your rig. Even the things you may consider and question that you may think of having to buy was listed and communicated that they were provided. The word on the street was you are the $hit, the player for the job. Nobody fits the gig better than you to be the replacement. You are it! That is why you got the call and the tech to build it and the car coming to get you to go shopping to pick out the gear and are not responsible for paying for it. :D

I feel your pain man. Sometimes we are just not with the Program. While I DID use some of my own gear, I think it was obvious why....

But, I'll Play again, just for fun:

5 electric guitars
- Gibson Les Paul Custom 3 Pickup, Custom, Distortion Neck, 59
- Gibson Les Paul Custom Silverburst, Distortion & 59
- Gibson Les Paul Custom Cherry Sunburst, Distortion & 59
- Gibson Les Paul Custom, Cherry Sunburst, Super Distortion & PAF
- Gibson Les Paul Custom Burgundy, Custom & PG

1 acoustic guitar
- Ovation Celebrity CE44 Shallow bowl in Black. (I know, cheap...I just like it)

2 amp heads (Must be able to do clean, dirty and high gain sounds)
- Mesa Badlander (This appears to be the current version of the Stiletto to me...)
- Marshall 2555

4 4x12 cabs
2 Mesa Dual Recto Cabs for the Mesa
2 Matching 1q960's for the 2555

8 pedals
- Morley Wah
- Analog Man King Of Tone
- Suhr Riot
- Visual Sound (or whatever they are now) H2O v3
- Eventide Time Factor
- Source Audio Collider
- Empress V2 tremolo ("I'll buy an Orange one, not taking my 10th anniversary on tour)

In your case I got why. On the other hand.....why not have the band buy your backups so you can save what you have and keep it fresh while you rock out and relic what the gig provided?

So double up on it again and have the band foot the bill. They agreed to do so. :)
Sorry, just too frugal to buy stuff just to buy stuff. Besides, I've spent my life putting together a rig on a budget that I would put against anything out there. Micing into a PA not withstanding.
I suppose that it's sort of the demolition derby mindset. Just another side effect of being born in New Hampshire I suppose.

As far as guitars go, it's taken 15 years for me to get my lineup to where I have it. If I were to play for someone else, I want the stuff that I'm used to. Pedals, amps and cabs I can work with, if I have to.
But two Spidervalve 100 watt full stacks with the footboard would do anything required of it. Without having to be miced. If it were a 12,000 seat venue. Anything bigger and take a direct out of the Spidervalve and give me an IE monitor.

Well, I guess I could use some picks. I have thought about it I will post in a bit.

Seriously?
There's plenty of people on the forum that dream of a perfect rig.
There's plenty of people on the forum that have one. Or several.
