Re: Someone Who Cares - The Kinship
I formed The Kinship in 96 and we headlined a lot of LA/Hollywood shows, and also opened for a lot of natl. bands like Union/Bruce Kulick, Robbie Krieger Band, Eric Sardinas, Govt Mule, Dikky Betts etc. We broke up around 2000, and some of these songs were from that self produced CD. I think we were getting tired of being 'almost signed' and all the record contracts we were offered were terrible deals that they wouldn't budge on. That's probably the reason we got discouraged and split apart.
I'm forming a band right now with the drummer and bassist, but the rest of the guys have moved back to Texas. These next bands share members with Podunk, The Kinship, and the Hammond player is like the local LA keyboard virtuoso act, The Organ Trio. He's the best musician I've ever played with. He scoops up a lot of LA sessions, since he's a better player than Benmont Tench.
His name is Mike Mangan.
I'm looking for a great local singer right now, so I can put it all together with some former members of that band. For the past few years, I've been in Silverlined, but it fell apart after not getting a deal. The singer from that band, is Tim Lachman, who's the brother of Pat Lachman from Damageplan.
