Something happened to my 7-string.... Something... Neon

Re: Something happened to my 7-string.... Something... Neon

Too cool! Something like that could be a fun thing to do with my Parker since it doesn't have any inlays. :scratchch

Looks cool. I wanted to get one of those Jockomo, but backed out thinking they may actually hinder playing. Glad to get a feed back on they are not so easy to install.

Actually that's the one cool thing about them is, try as I may, I can't feel them while playing. Even seriously fretting as hard as I can and bending my ass off it's like it's not there. So that's cool.

It's occasions like this where I think they need to make switch tips that look like this:

Maybe just a standard tip in red would do it? Am I over the top? I'm the guy with the Psychedelic Orange/Pink/Green/Yellow Strat, so I guess I don't know where to stop.

Or leave it just as it is. It's pretty cool as is. :bigthumb:

Oooo that's actually a really cool idea! They really should make a rounded knob like that. Maybe I can mod a bead or something... I'll report any changes in this thread. Thanks for the idea!

In the words of Macklemore.....This is F*****g Awesome.

1.) Good Lord.
2.) Was there residue of lemon oil or anything like that on the fretboard? Even a little of it hiding in the pores could probably make it very difficult for stickers to stick.
3.) Consider incorporating the white roller ball from an original Centipede arcade game.

It looks like a Guitar Hero guitar. :reporter:

SIR.

I am not not involved in any ****tiness.

Nah. They said to clean the fretboard with the included alcohol wipe. I haven't played on it enough to get any dick dirt on it so I just gotta chalk it up to their non-sticking crap.

And YES. All suggestions are welcome. I'm going to Michael's tomorrow to check out my options. If I have to lighter-weld that ***** on there I'm fine with that.

Re: Something happened to my 7-string.... Something... Neon

Looks awesome! Love the space invaders "inlays". Have fun with that monster :headbang:

Re: Something happened to my 7-string.... Something... Neon

Wow, boner alert.

I love everything about that guitar. I'm curious, what pickups will you be putting in the new lady?

On a more trivial note, how do you expect to wine and dine said fair maiden into allowing for pickup insertion?

Re: Something happened to my 7-string.... Something... Neon

Ya know, I really don't know yet. I was think some D-Activators for sure but right now anything's up in the air. Gonna get into some reviews pretty deep here when I get the pup dough.

I think I've fingered this ***** enough for her to let me do whateva I want. :D

Re: Something happened to my 7-string.... Something... Neon

Wow, it's a whole lot more eye catching now :lmao:

Very 80's...The space invader inlays are awesome!

As for pickups, try & check out the Lace alumitone X-bar or Deathbar too. There are some pretty cool sounding comparison's/samples/demo's around & I'm guessing they'll look pretty sick in there :)

I'm really gassing for a pair of them myself right now :(

Re: Something happened to my 7-string.... Something... Neon

OH.

Almost forgot to mention that those inlay stickers are nowhere near as easy to put on as they say. I couldn't get those ****ers to stick to save my life. Had to clamp each of em with a washcloth for hours to get the final result.

So yeah. Beware of any "Oh it's so easy." crap. Proooobably didn't make it easier that the space invader ones have little tiny blocks that aren't attached. Mind numbing aggravation I tell ya.

Did you read the instructions? :D

Cut each one individually. Peel the backing paper off, then press down on the clear side, then peel the clear side off. I have 5 guitars with jockomo stickers and the only ones that took a while are the skull and crossbones ones.. because I cut the crossbones off.

Re: Something happened to my 7-string.... Something... Neon

That's really cool man!

Never heard of Douglas guitars before.

Re: Something happened to my 7-string.... Something... Neon

... Um. Yeah.

I mean it's a pretty simple process.

It was just EXTREMELY difficult to get em to stick to the fretboard. Meaning that when I went to peel the clear film off, they came with it. See?

Re: Something happened to my 7-string.... Something... Neon

I want to put those inlays on my strat. It would look off but... who cares... SPACE INVADERS.

Re: Something happened to my 7-string.... Something... Neon

The guitar looks great! I installed some inlay stickers for a friend and it was incredibly easy, and I'm considering getting some for myself.
