static (pedal content inside)

Looking for Real Life
is there any way to make your guitar sound like static? as in like when you turn your tv to a channel you don't get & all those white things start bouncing around. I know it's a weird request but i thought it'd be cool like in a harder song just to throw down some noise, scream over it, then come back to normal guitar world & cue the bass & drums back in.

my theory would be extra distortion pedal (cheap thick one), weird set EQ pedal, and a wah pedal set in the high position, but i'm not sure. Any ideas?

i bet something by 'death by audio' could get you something crazy...just google that name. they've got all these crazy pedals that do things I've never heard of other pedals doing.....

I have one....it'll make your guitar sound like it's coming through a cheap AM radio so hot it's about to blow the built in 3" speaker, but it won't do the static thing.

For static, get a cheap portable radio with a headphone jack (the smaller the better). Break off the antenna, and run it into an A/B box. When you want static, jump on the A/B. If you want to get fancier, get a panning volume pedal so you can blend the static in and out with your guitar signal.

If you leave the attenna on, you can get some interesting accidents by "sampling" whatever happens to be on the radio. Tends to be the most fun when tuned into classical and or Gospel stations.
