Ive not found better than true NOS Amperex & Blackburn Mullards for rock amps and the 40 to 50 year old steel pins work fine. My Dad was an EE for a Honeywell Company in the 70's before he died. They made their own circuits & PCB's from scratch & gold wire was a big part of that. Im talking real gold wire, not plated. They had a large Heist of gold wire from his Company, it was a big deal at the time & worth alot of money. They caught those involved & it was an inside job.
I would stack these Amperex up against anything. I won't use CP tubes unless i have to.
Those Gold Lion tubes are plated not solid gold.
That may be the case today. but not originally at all. They were originally sold in the very high end scientific instrument market -where tolerances for spectral analyzers, spectrophotometers, all kinds of equipment needing extremely tight performance tolerances when amplifying imagery/data.
