Strat bridge humbucker

Hi all. First post here. I'm a Tele player who uses Alnico 2 Pro bridge pickups. I also play a Strat occasionally and need to go low-noise with that guitar. What humbucking strat-style bridge pickup will sound the most like the Tele Alnico 2 Bridge?

Thanks!

Re: Strat bridge humbucker

I don't think Duncan really makes any regular production single coil humbuckers that really sound like that. Even though it might be pricey, I think your best bet is to contact the Duncan Custom Shop.

A pearly gates has a psuedo tele like quality in my strat.....at least the high end ....the low end is a bit mushy compared to a good tele pup.

You can not easily make a Strat with a trem make sound like a Tele with that massive steel bridge that pancakes the magnetic field.

For humming pickups you have at least options with baseplate but I'm not aware of a hum-canceling one. Obviously you can't put a baseplate under a stack.

Re: Strat bridge humbucker

If you really want a noiseless Alnico II Pro that's humbucking, you could have the custom shop do up an A2Pro Stack Plus for you. Not a cheap solution, though.

You could also ask the Custom Shop if they can do a tele Stack Plus (in a strat mounting, so you don't have to mess with routing if it's not a swimming pool route, or cutting the pickguard). I wouldn't be surprised if they could put the plate in the middle of the stack instead of at the bottom.

Do you want a side-by-side humbucker (Like the TBAPH-1b Alnico II Pro Humbucker or APH-2 Slash) that is similar to the A2Pro or just a hum-cancelling A2 Pro single?

If it needs to be a full-sized humbucker, I'd also check out the Pearly Gates (TBPG-1b). It's a little ruder, it's presence might be a bit more like what you expect coming from a tele.

Take a look at the Kinman range.

The Hx90 is based on a Tele pickup but if you ask they're advice, they'll advise you.
