Strat SSS Wiring Question:. Is This Doable?

Re: Strat SSS Wiring Question:. Is This Doable?

Does it sound like you were expecting?

Yes! While the 2 & 4 positions are still a tad quieter, the out-of-phase sound is much louder now. I noticed that my tone pot rolls off on the neck tone well until it gets to about 1 then it's like a no-load and turns off. I think that pot might be shot. Damn, it was brand new. Defective? Fried it? I doubt it's a bad connection given that it works well until that point. The volume is a little bit iffy at ten, so I might replace that too. Still, I really don't mind. The switching is finally working perfectly! WOOT!

Thank you for the diagram, Bri! I swapped out a different neck tone pot and volume pot as they were definitely causing some issues. I prefer linear volume pots and was out of 250k linear pots. My solution is a mortal sin in the guitar world...

It's a Fender Strat and I used a 300k linear taper GIBSON POT!

You’ll probably go to hell for it... [emoji33]

...but then too I tend to prefer a little extra brightness. You can always roll it back out! [emoji6]
