Suhr doug aldrich pickups

Re: Suhr doug aldrich pickups

The Aldrich bridge is bright, yet with rounded highs at the same time so it doesn't get shrill. Very tight and never gets muddy.
The Aldrich neck has a great liquidy lead tone as well as great clean to overdrive tones. It's articulate, but because of it's fatter sound it can get a bit muddy on the wound strings higher up on the neck of a Les Paul.

Overall, a Pafish sound that handles more modern styles with ease. For that kinda thing, it's the best set I've tried so far.

Re: Suhr doug aldrich pickups

is it good for Gary Moore live at Montreux ?lol
for example, the burstbuckers pro have a reputation: they sounds bright

and for D A 's pickups, they can have the classic sounds: burst bucker + more power than the 498t if i understand

When I listen to that, I kinda think Whole Lotta Humbuckers somehow. There's a long clip on youtube of an Aldrich clinic where he plays some Gary Moore (and talks about him) though, so you can judge for yourself.

Re: Suhr doug aldrich pickups

i listened to a lot of videos and he had the same sound with a strat
so, it's not the guitar or pickups
it's just the SOldano

It's been a year! You're clearly not going to get an answer that satisfies you. Buy a set (preferably used) and figure it our for yourself.

Re: Suhr doug aldrich pickups

better than 490r and 498t ?

No experience with those 2 myself unfortunately. Best advice at this point would be to just check out the clips on youtube. There's plenty of good clips (without massive distortion and fx) that are representative of how the set actually sounds. If the vibe appeals to you, just check 'em out.
