Since some of you guys -- I won't mention any names, but you know who you are -- can't read directions, I'm rewording the poll. If you voted in the last poll, please re-vote here so I don't have to do a Florida recount. :)

I have two 50-watt Mesa heads: a Dual Caliber DC-5 and a Single Rectifier. As much as it hurts to say this, one of 'em has got to go. I love them both almost equally, but I really can't justify hanging onto both of them.

I've made my decision. Which one am I keeping?

P.S. I put the amps in alphabetical order, so there's no trick as to why I put one first or one second on the list.

Re: TAKE TWO: Biting the Bullet

I've never played a DC-5... but I'd go with the one that sounds NOTHING like your other amps, or is most versatile.

Re: TAKE TWO: Biting the Bullet

I have a Single Recto and voted too close to call just cause I still haven't rid myself of my old half stack. It just has a flavor the Recto doesn't. But if I had to pick the Recto is more versitile and wound be my pick.

Re: TAKE TWO: Biting the Bullet

I say forget those 2 and just get a dual recto like my post in the last deleted thread lol!!

Re: TAKE TWO: Biting the Bullet

Did I mess up last time?

My original vote was for the DC-5 because I love the clean and the 5-band EQ.

Re: TAKE TWO: Biting the Bullet

I reallly don't care:) but, having owned a Single Recto and having played a DC-5 (not to mention owning a Mark IV also), I realize that I'm not a Mesa guy (haven't tried their EL-34 stuff though). However, of the 2, I would vote to keep the DC-5, it has a more traditional Boogie tone and is more versatile.
