TC Electronics G system End of Life.

So it's been said that the G system is at it's end of life. Cool this should mean a new one on the way? Anyone hear anything.
Reason I ask is I recently went back to Pedals and Love the way TC Electronics pedals sound. Tone Print is crazy cool especially if your in a playing around kinda mood.
I can see the new G system having this technology for the internal effects. Think about it, If you have a Tone Print you like on lets say Chorus, You could beam that Print right onto that effect and so on and so forth with all the other internal effects. How cool would that be?
As a New G system would be brand new and Tone printing the entire board well thats not going to happen until it gets on the market and people start building patches. I can see it being much better then the current model and maybe adding a Expression pedal?????
Still keeping the Drive pedals analog and out of the G system which I think is a very good idea.

Any thoughts?

Dunno... I'm pretty close to having the full set of TonePrint pedals... gonna be a little pissed if I gotta chuck 'em all to buy an all-in-one...

I dont see it happening for a long time. Its been long since the toneprint stuff has been out & tc has introduced mini line of pedals as well as stuff like triple flashback unit. It's more profitable for them with the pedal series. Personally also I would pick individual ones of their mini pedals that i needed & wouldn't want all of them filling the board, they sound good but there are more options out there that can sound different.

Besides, they charge ~$80 something to fix their proprietary footswitch, basically the entire the board is trashed & replaced with new one and sent back to the customer as a fix. That was the issue with their earlier footswitch design they had on the toneprint stuff, the recent one seems to have fixed that, I hope cause I have their delay.

I love the Tone Print Technology. I find it very useful especially when you just get one of the pedals. Gives you a lot of cool ideas where to take said pedal.
I want to pick them al up myself. I only the the Hall of fame full size pedal in Tone Print but I'm gonna Get the Chorus next.

I'm still using my Nova System exclusively and only wished that the OD/Distortion had more control over the tone shaping.
The OD is the problem for me. I hate Tube Screamers and that is what the OD sounds like on a Nova System. It can be scooped
out with the EQ but than your also scooping the clean sound. I use the Distortion with the gain down and it works quite well for an open low gain
Marshall sound.

The thing that I love about the G-system is that you can rack the brains and put the switch on the floor and connect it with a CAT5 cable... having a lot less cable in your signal does great things for the sound.

I've always wanted a G-System but I've never actually gotten one.

Who said it was on end-of-life?

I think TC is due for another entry into the high end multi-effects market. A lot has changed in the $1500 price point, with the Fractal units and the Helix out there. It woud make sense that they would come out with something new. If they do, it would be soon, as NAMM is in a few months.

I'm pretty sure I was first to mention it. I don't know when it happened, but it's no longer available new and I'd heard that TC is no longer making new firmware updates.

I've played one and it sounded really good, but the loop on my amp is a bit of a tone suck, so that rules out rack effects. I've thought about loading all of my pedals into a GCX switcher, but I'm not sure I want to carry either a giant pedal board or a rack that effectively holds nothing but a switcher and a couple pedal drawers. I'm also concerned about reliability as I can't really afford to buy two GCXes and two midi controllers for it.

What kind of amp are you using? Tone suck is an issue and why use products that cause your sound to suffer when you work so hard to get it where you want it to be?
My amp is also sensitive to things and really gets hurt buy products that have the ability to so called Tone suck so I work my way around this issue and find products that don't cause me more pain the pleasure.
This is why I keep flip flopping back and forth with Pedals and effects units. I love the control but can't stand the tone suck. I love the sound of pedals and hate the management, pedals boards power supplies short cables etc all which is a giant thing when your use to multi effects.
The G system currently looks impressive but if TC is going to release a new one in the next few months or even year, I'd be willing to wait as I'm having a blast with all the Tone Print pedals and some others they have. I switched to TC from Boss and I'm having fun.

The amp in question is a 1988 Marshall Jubilee 2555. It has a really primitive non-buffered effects loop that just doesn't sound that great.

I never played through on of those. I owned a JCM 800 years and years ago but my knowledge of gear was no where near where it is today.
Buffered Effects loops, huh I wonder what amps have that technology built in? Thinking about it thats a very good idea especially considering your gonna run at least 20 feet of cabling between the send and return not counting the Pedals and short patch cords or 1/4 to 1/4 male adapters. This could very easily turn into 30 feet or more depending.
Having a buffer there is a very good idea but you could also use Buffered pedals which many pedals you would typically use in an effects loop have buffers. All Boss Modulation pedals have buffers and very good ones. TC Electronics have True Bypass but also have dip switches underneath the batter compartment where you can switch from True Bypass to Buffered.
So I think your non buffered effects loop can be saved by using such products in it and get some wonderful tones. Marshall even their entry level amps are very good sounding.
