Although, if you like the look, you might try Lipstick Tube pickups, which will go right in a Strat.

That's a pretty awesome pickup set, even for someone like me who doesn't really like Teles.

Hahaha! My bf yelled at me (he didn't even SEE that) for wanting to spend $$ on a $99 guitar. I didn't have that much in mind, it was a pic I found to illustrate my point. I can probably get the tone I want with the vypyr, and get covers and rings. Will the metal covers really mess up the tone a lot?
I just found some black ones (yeah I know-plastic). Guitar is cherryburst (bad enough-others are NOT). It may be classic, but feels passe to me. Maybe black single coils or covers and a humbucker and pot covers/knobs whatever you call em, and that's all it takes. He thinks $300, but I think NOT.

But still, I'm wondering about di'Marzios, like Juanhanglo said.

I do like those SDs. Would that require major surgery? What else would I have to spend besides the $115?

If you can install them yourself you shouldn’t have to spend or buy anything else.

Obviously you’ll need a soldering iron and solder.

Edit: the sound quality is pretty crappy. It’s the owner’s cell phone video from across the bar, so....don’t expect much. Lol
