I enjoy playing all different styles, depending on the mood I'm in. But I prefer metal. Ya, Iron Maiden and their harmonies are just awesome to jam to with a friend. I don't know if the NU-metal style(System of a Down, Slipknot..) can go along with metal but either way, I love playing em' both.

Haha yeah I could tell by the Iceman in your avatar. Like everyone else, I listened to System of a Down... I think every teen did about a year ago

Don't like Nu-metal, that stuff is too angsty and distorted imo, but whatever floats your boat, or whatever cooks your curry.

I said other, because I didn't see any general statement of metal or hard rock. This stuff being Billy Talent, Pantera, Tool, SoaD, Goldfinger, Metallica, and a host of others.

Do you really consider System of a Down NU-METAL??? I would call it just plain metal. Nu-metal has a different style... think turntables, emotionally powered lyrics, or just plain stupidity! Sorry to offend any NM followers, but I don't like most of it.

i said alternative but not like the bands that are listed under that name. im more 90's alternative like pearl jam, old weezer, soundgarden, chilil peppers, bands of that nature.

Ditto, escept I'm chilipepperish, most of the time. Other times I fit into "other." Depends on what type of song my stupid vocalist writes. Stupid man makes me work.

SOAD has all that without the turntables :laugh2:

Their riffs have that nu-metal pattern.. I don't know how to describe it in musical terms.

Neither did I care for their supersaturated political statements.

I do, however, fancy their video clips =)
