My Bogen CHB-20A PA head, converted to a Marshall 18-Watter circuit and transplanted into DIY combo with faux-Univox Group B cosmetics. Celestion G12H80. The faceplate has since been changed to Univox-approved engraved blue plastic.

Well, mine is in the "it's what's inside that counts" camp. It's a Dodge Dart with a 426 Hemi.

Sound > looks for me.

I have to nominate the Celtic amps we have around here. They just are so amazing.

Also, butnut's refinished bogner alchemist is up on my list.

Another cool thred I missed!

I tend to think what makes an amp cool is it if looks different than standard black tolex boxes...

With that said I toss in my Mission Amps 5B4 V Front Super clone.

I've had this amp for several years now and it never stops blowing my mind!

i'm with you man, black cookie cutter amps aren't the coolest at all. that red JMP i mentioned, the tri-color celtic, butnuts slime green bogner, twilights old japanese flag faceplate quickrod he recently swapped out and DirtyCraig's (who has been MIA for ages) boa covered splawn are the cool ones that come to mind as i think of them more.

i have a cool boa covered splawn 4x12 though so let me know when we do a coolest cab list lol. i really need to recover my recto to match it one of these days.

I just like things that look a little different. I used soem rented gear at a studio once...I'll see if I have pics. I used a bmall box 50 watt Plexi head through an 8x10 cab...both were the original purple tolex...not only looked but sounded AMAZING!

Ahem ... I humbly and respectfully submit my Mesa Stiletto Ace head on a mahogany-fronted Ear Candy Buzzbomb for consideration:

Re: The Coolest Amps of the SDUGF

When I was consistently gigging and buyin/selling, I literally had around 80 good amps go through my hands. Some of my favorites were old Marshalls and blue/white Blues Pearl Amp Co. amps that were custom made.

Here's some current amp porn.

This one isn't mine, but this Siegmund is one of the coolest amps I've seen at an Amp Show.
