Well first, I eat a big crock pot full of beans....then lots of garlic....

I use my amp mainly, but for more grind or leads I'll boost it with a pedal.

Hard question. It depends on the amp, guitars, room and the music being played. I would like to say all of the above (you can't have too many choices). If I am playing in a big room where I can crank the amp I really don;t need any help, but in most situations the volume would be too loud if you crank the amp, so a pedal would be a good choice.
