The H90 Harmonizer Thread

Thanks! (And to be clear, it’s the .9 pedal Tricerachorus that they added the detune to)

It does -confirmed (see in the parameters I was scrolling through)

Do you have the Tricerachorus algorithm? If so, can you check to see if it has the same detune that the stand alone pedal version has?

The algorythems are exactly the same as the pedals and have all if not more functionality.

Every algorithm indicates where.what pedal it comes from too -and the H90 has a menu system so you can now keep the original algorthms in the H9 list and other pedal lists and then seperate affected custome User lists.

So you dont have to blow out any algorithms ever -A big advancement over the H9 in that regard.

Awesome, thanks! How many algorithms does it come with? Are they doing a core/standard/max or is it all in for now?

I think Weedwacker and Dark Pulse are pretty incredible

Here's the blurb:
  • Preloaded with 62 effect algorithms:
    • 10 new effect algorithms: Polyphony, Prism Shift, Bouquet Delay, Head Space, WeedWacker, Even-Vibe, Wormhole, Instant Flanger, Instant Phaser, and SP2016 Reverb
    • Includes all 52 effect algorithms from the H9 Max Harmonizer with enhanced features and improvements
  • New low-latency Polyphonic Pitch Shifting with SIFT (Spectral Instantaneous Frequency Tracking) technology
  • ARM-based architecture lays the foundation for new and exciting creative effects
  • Use two algorithms at once per Program
  • True spillover between Programs
  • Route effects in series or parallel
  • Instrument or line-level operation
  • Two mono inserts or one stereo insert can be positioned anywhere in the signal chain

I have way too many questions for NegativeEase like how do you choose which patch gets the EXP pedal? Can you control both patches at the same time with the EXP? Increasing the reverb while slowing down modulation would be a cool effect.

I just got a notification that the pedal will be here tomorrow morning instead of Tuesday. I have an appointment in the morning. Eventide sent it with the signature required, so I just rerouted it to a FedEx location. I am hoping I have enough time to use it tomorrow to be comfortable using it at practice tomorrow night.

The eagle has landed. I will run through the presets and get used to the settings. I am already wondering if this "Teacher Preacher" preset is Hot For Teacher; there were a ton of EVH presets in the H9, and they were all spot on.

"Teacher Preacher" preset is definitely not Hot For Teacher, but I found all of the other EVH stuff that was in there before and more.

Man, I have not done that -actually.

Lemme try!

Sorry everyone for spamming this thread but I have not been this excited about a pedal in a while.

Yes, you can use an EXP on each algorithm. You could do it with two EXP pedals or get a Source Audio Dual EXP which is what I have in my MF shopping cart right now. I already wrote a patch where the reverb swell increases as the tremolo rate increases and a wah patch that starts to add some classic flange as you heel down on the pedal.

How does it compare to the H9?

It is more performance orientated. The three knobs under the display screen can be assigned to any parameters for live tweaks. It is much easier to adjust programs on the fly without the editor, I am going to lose my iPad. There are 4 inputs and outputs that can be assigned as instrument/line level or used as loops. There is a FREEZE function on some settings. They designed the unit to allow the user to ramp up and start creating very quickly.

I love that there are two ports that can be used for EXP pedals or switches. The EXPs can be assigned to control any parameter you would like. The series/parallel routing for effects is also cool. If you would like, you could assign any input or output to the path. Small example if you were doing an acoustic gig your vocal mic could be in input 1 with REVERB going out to output 1 to the PA, and input 2 could be your guitar with CHORUS going to your amp with output 2. You still have input/output 3 and 4 to play with and assign if you would like.

The new Headrush tape delay is freaking awesome and incredibly flexible it sims warble or fading tape, you can also assign how many tape heads you would like to use 1-4.

There is also a spillover function that is user definable. When you switch the effects you can have the first effect fade as you begin to use the second selection. Or have the abrupt switch over we are traditionally accustomed to having.

Okay, this is also very cool. You can assign which effects or patches you want to send to the front of the amp or the effect loop.

Or create loops right on the H90

So I am guessing you like it and recommend it more than the H9?

I absolutely love it. I already started putting in some presets to use with the band that sound spot on and were simple to program. The H90 is much more powerful and feature full than the H9. That doesn't take anything away from the H9 it is still a monster pedal. Seeing the H9s are going for ~$300 used, they are a more budget-friendly way to get a lot of the Eventide processing power. The cool thing Eventide is doing is all of the development and upgrades to the algorithms in the H90 are being added to the plugins and H9. For example, if they make changes to the Pitchfactor algorithms those changes are reflected in all of their products that have that algorithm. So the H9 is not dead or forgotten. There is simply a shiny new model on the showroom floor and it is a beast.

If budget is not a concern yes go for the H90, if it is you will not find more bang for your buck than the H9.
