The new Ernie Ball Music Man Vault

Re: The new Ernie Ball Music Man Vault

Wow, the Micro Prism Morse and Silhouette Special!

Re: The new Ernie Ball Music Man Vault

Music Man is a brand like Dean- you either get it or hate it.

Re: The new Ernie Ball Music Man Vault

Had a couple of Stingray basses back in the 80's - kickass stuff. Never have owned a Music Man guitar, but I worked on plenty - they are nice. That Majesty is a gorgeous piece of axe.....

Re: The new Ernie Ball Music Man Vault

Yeah, I get it. 3/4 of their models look like BS shredder wankocasters for dudes who haven't had an unmedicated erection since the Clinton adminstration.

But I love the idea of a mainstream manufacturer seeing up a website to sell their one-off experiments.

Can't say that any of them float my boat...at any price.

Re: The new Ernie Ball Music Man Vault

Wow. They really will do anything to avoid opening up a custom shop, won't they? :laugh2:

Re: The new Ernie Ball Music Man Vault

I sort of don’t blame them - I notice EB has really great communication/cust. service. While it may be a coincidence and while it seems like a ‘simple’ thing to accommodate at least minor customer requests to an outsider, it seems like customer service seems to go out the window for guitar companies that decide to institute a ‘Custom Shop.’ Either that or it just brings out the whiners :)

I can see that being an issue. The thing is the words 'Custom Shop' implies that they can build anything. Fender's 'Custom Shop' will only build something that is Fender-derived. It essentially just mixes and matches different things that have appeared on past Fenders, and that's it.

Until I get the ability to spec out MM guitars with the woods, finishes, pickups, frets, hardware and neck profiles I want, I reserve the right to ***** and moan. :D

I'd really just settle for the body wood choice, frets and finishes. everything else on most MM guitars seems to be dialed in really well.

Re: The new Ernie Ball Music Man Vault

I'd like to bring back 'Blue Dawn'.

That was a nice one.

All I want is an AL HH in Pearlescent white, or the option to do a Y2D or silo special in a mahogany body. :/

Re: The new Ernie Ball Music Man Vault

The Silhouette Special is tasty.

The thing that always frustrates me about EBMM is the extremely limited colour options.

Re: The new Ernie Ball Music Man Vault

BOTH OF THESE!!!!

See what i mean? I'm really not asking a whole lot. For the frets I'd be happy with whatever they use on the Petrucci models.

I'd even settle for maple/basswood on the Y2D
