My old 53 Strat. Built by Leo himself and is most likely the second prototype built. The guitar was given to my father in 1954 by a friend of his that worked at Fender.

Its a hard feat following some of these posts, but here is my modest family..
97 Washburn Steve Salas signature (my favorite guitar)

Is it just me or is this a strat-heavy thread? great posts. I'm seeing some stuff I haven't seen before. And Bloodrose - there is NOTHING modest about that Sykes, and especially that Purple Dean - Now, on to the Waul of Paul:

Thanks for the kind words.. Ill tell you, the Black Salas is blowing my mind.. Ive been playing it almost exclusively lately and now, anytime I play anything else, they just dont sound or feel good.. I recently sold 3 guitars out of financial need, but aside from the fact I liked having all the toys, Im not missing anything.. I just put my Schecter C1 up for sale too and oddly, it isnt bugging me too bad..
When I get the blue one, Im gonna put a Custom 8 in the black one and it could be perfect.
The Michael Kelley..... WOW.. Talk about underrated... Its truly an amazing guitar.. Great price for a mahogany guitar with an actual maple cap. (has decorative veneer on top of the maple cap). Has grover keys, Tone pros bridge and tailpiece, and good pickups. Rockfields. Not Duncans, but better than most OEM. Matter of fact, Im a pup swap fiend.. I dont leave hardly anything alone. But I still run the stock neck pup in that guitar. The bridge was pretty good too, but as I said, I cant leave alone.. I put a Rio BBQ in it.
Another stock feature is coil tap pots and great fretwork. Ebony board, abalone inlays..
Great player and EVERYONE who Ive A/Bed the guitar back to back with my Gibby lester, likes the Kelly better. Its more articulate.
I'd tell anyone that isnt concerned with labels, if you want a LP sounding guitar the you wont outgrow, get one.. Its got more features and costs less.
Ill buy another.. I only wish it had two vol/two tones.

The Imperial was assembled from "period correct" and original parts. The only new items on it are the pickups and controls. It's the first R5 and the first claw neck I've ever owned. Couldn't afford 'em back in the day. It plays very nice, and yes, the Stagey plays equally as well!
