thread to make you feel better about your playing ...

Re: thread to make you feel better about your playing ...

thank you IMP - very kind of you to say :) ... yeah, for the relatively small amount of time and money, the 'low maintenance' approach to recording turned out to be pretty satisfying for us ... we (obvously :D ) didnt obsess over little things like tone or pitch or tempo stability ... but we tried to sing and play enough of the right notes, reasonably close to the right place, so as to get the point across :D ... loking forward to rehearsal the next few weeks then tearing it up on 16 june .... we have a metric buttload of friends coming out, so we wanna go over in a big way ...

thanks for all the support, guys .. really means alot to me that you took the time time to listen and say nice stuff

cheers

thanks for checking, marin ... it is embedded in that page as a quicktime (i think), not mp3 ... i was gonna put the ripped mp3 on my soundclick, but i am not sure if we would get in trouble with copyrights 'cus they're all covers

Re: thread to make you feel better about your playing ...

I've managed to get it to work.....

THAT WAS SO COOOOOOOOL!!!! :)

What a great band you have, it must be really enjoyable to play with your band.

Your guitar sounds great. Those DGstomp are the most underrated pieces of equipment (unfortunately, primarily by Yamaha themselves...). Which channel do you use most (like on Honky Tonk Woman, for example?).

Yeah I can't get it to work either. My Quicktime is working fine though, I'm pretty sure. I'll try a few things I guess.

Re: thread to make you feel better about your playing ...

Well that was a quick fix. Quicktime was bugging out, but I got it to work.

Awesome song dude! I like the organ in the background, and your singer sounds very good. Then you have the harmony with the guy and the chick, and that's awesome. Nice recording quality too!

Re: thread to make you feel better about your playing ...

thanks marin and big al ... yeah, we have a pretty good time ... we had some chuckles last night at rehearsal becuase we added 2 'new country' tunes and we're not 'country' types ... but the tele sounded cool :D ...

i'll have to check my notes for the preset i used on the yamaha for that tune when i get home ... i did the whole session with just one patch except for 'the middle' and the solo on 'lights' ... all the tonal variations came from the pickup combos and volume knob
