To anyone who's played a Fender Jazzmaster..

Re: To anyone who's played a Fender Jazzmaster..

thoughts right off the bat on the Classic Player...I've been digging on it just a few hours but it's a smokin guitar and most if not all of the "issues" with a JM have been addressed ans corrected.

Kudos to Fender for making positive and much needed IMO changes to a guitar w/o giving up the tone and feel of the original guitar!

Re: To anyone who's played a Fender Jazzmaster..

I dont like the black with the tort guard :(

I feel ya, go with burst or change the guard.

That is one sort of bummer with these CP JM's...only 2 colours...

Also, the guard is different from a regular JM or from any of the sig JM's so no replacement guards...you can have one made but it's about $75!

Re: To anyone who's played a Fender Jazzmaster..

Gratz on the grab. man. It's nice to see the JM getting some smart adjustments. The Reissue was the only one available for far too long. But yeah, now they need some new colors across the board. Fender seems to have dialed back to black, white and burst on a LOT of their models in the last couple of years.

Re: To anyone who's played a Fender Jazzmaster..

Thanks.

I understand the limited colours...the JM is a limited interest piece and the more colours it's made in the more time it takes to build stock and the more money it costs...

I'm fine with the burst...a JM will never be my main sound it's always gonna be a guitar that I pick up now and then for a differnet sound or feel so I'm not gonna sweat the small details like colour.

Re: To anyone who's played a Fender Jazzmaster..

I'd buy a second one, especially at CP prices, if they'd do it up in Shell Pink.

Re: To anyone who's played a Fender Jazzmaster..

That is a sharp colour combo...shell pink with a tort guard...

I'm thinking pretty hard about getting a gold aluminum guard for mine and black plastic...

Re: To anyone who's played a Fender Jazzmaster..

They're probably sized for the Japanese Jazzmasters. There is (was?) a very cool '66 version with block inlays available in Japan. And the J Mascis sig model was built there. There are probably others I don't know about too.

the ones that say Import should. or am i missing something?

Re: To anyone who's played a Fender Jazzmaster..

The issue is wiht the bridge...those guards have the 2 round holes for the rocking JM bridge, the CP JM has one bigger cut out for the adjusto-matic...

I guess it might fit but i'm not sure...in fact I need to find that out!
