Tonal Bliss or Utter Crap (412 question)

Right now I'm running a 212 ext cab with a vintage 30 and a classic lead 80. I love that combo. Vin 30 is the industry standard and classic lead 80 is very underrated and under appreciated. I don't want to change a thing. If anything I might pickup another 212 down the line with a differ combo for differ tonal options. Say I get a combo with a G12H30 and a Greenback. What would happen if I ran both cabs together and formed a 412. I know a 412 with two sets of speakers yields good results, but what if I had one with four different speakers? Say Maybe the classic lead for the neutral, and the other three for the different eq spectrums, one for low end, one for mid range and one for the highs? Would that work? Would it sound good?

Not specifically stating the other two speakers, but in general has anyone ever tried this? If not using 4 different speakers using at least 3 different ones? Would those 4 speakers essentially cancel out their eq spectrums? Would one over power the other three? Would it be so different that it sounds off or bad? Or would they all work in harmony with a thick juicy spectrum of sound?

Perfectly fine. Just make sure you've got the right impedance selected.

I can't speak from experience about having 4 different speakers. I do know that 2 different ones in an X pattern works well.
Part of what would make a 412 sound better than 2 x 212s is the physical space of the 412 cabinet is larger.
After that, I think you'd just need to experiment.
I suspect that the more powerful speaker(s) will dominate.

One danger I can see with 4 different speakers is making sure you don't blow the lowest powered one. The other is trivial, but make sure you match impedance.

so if I had two 212 cabs rated 16 ohms mono, would the total be 16 or 8?
